Made with #LOVE

So Valentines was on the way and I wanted to make my own card this year.

A few months ago we got some cute initial cushions and heart and I wanted to continue this theme.

I had purchase some pre cut and scored cards at Christmas, and I had some left over in Red - perfect!

I used a pearly paper, cut about 15mm smaller than the front of the card, and a heart pattern embossing folder from my Stampin' Up collection.

I passed it through my Big Shot machine, and then as the folder was designed portrait and I wanted landscape hearts, I had to match up the pattern and then pass the excess paper through to complete the all over embossing.

I did a really simple colour block fill to the hearts to add depth and colour and used a variety of brush tip markers again from my Stampin' Up collection.

In the most recent catalogue they also had air dry clay and an alphabet mould.  I had worked with air dry clay before but never have I found a product so light, almost like working with chewing gum, really stretchy but so so light so great for adding to cards as it dries light too.

So I opted for #LOVE, using a heart in place of the 'O' and then adding our initials going through this the other way.

I placed all the air dry clay in the relevant letters/shapes in the mould, at first I struggled to pop them out but after a quick search I found the best, tried and tested, method was to pop the mould in the freezer for half and hour, then hey presto when you get it out they come straight out and then I just left them to dry out.

Once dry I used a black stamp pad to colour the clay, in hindsight I could/should have coloured the clay with ink first but as this was the first time I used it I hadn't thought ahead!

For the heart I used a pale pink pigment powder and glitter.  Once all was dry I could then just glue them in place.

For the final touch I added a black backing card between the embossed hearts and the main red card which I think tied in all the colours together.
