Paper panda paper cutting...

Q: Mother's Day - What do you get the mum who has everything and hand makes all her own cards and crafts...

A: You cut her a hand cut papercut

Where to start...Paper Panda templates!

I saw the most beautiful template on Paper Panda's facebook page the other day and have been interested in trying to cut my own ever since the day I bought a papercut, from NOTHS, for my new home 3 years ago.

I have my own mat and scalpel already so really it was all just down to seeing the right design, as I didn't think drawing from scratch was the best idea for your first go!

Firstly I sourced some hammered effect high quality card, and then I printed the pdf provided, it really was as easy as that.

So paper in one hand and knife in the other I set about starting to cut this gorgeous design.

I am not going to lie, it was tough - I went stright into this design without *practice* or having tried anything but cutting a straight line before and by all accounts I think it went pretty well.

Tips for next time, cut small details out first moving outwards so then there are no delicate pieces which risk getting torn or bent in the process.

I am still to cut the extra colour pieces to fix behind the rose, flowers and leaves and I also have a custom glass on glass *floating* frame being made to sandwich the design into.  Once complete I will reveal all, watch this space!
