Christmas Nails

The world of pinterest really does have a lot to answer for!

This Christmas I just couldn't resist re-creating a design I had seen but to my own capabilities.  Basically I had an idea of what I wanted but couldn't be sure if I could recreate it well enough.

I wanted a snow scene with a snowman and trees, and I think I was pretty happy with the outcome.

I started with an all over base of navy blue shimmer, Midnight Luster (RCM gel colour), which I did two coats of.  I then used, White Hot, to paint on the snow tips in varied angles and the basic shape of the snowman.  Again set this under the lamp and then it was time for the detail.

I mixed some green pigment with some Megamix, mainly as I don't have a gel polish in the right shade ready made, and this worked perfectly to create my trees.  For the tree stumps I used RCM Espresso Yourself and other than adding some snow dots and a few red spots on a feature tree it was really as simple as that...

The snowman detail was very fine and I use the end of a toothpick to get the super fine dots.  His nose was RCM Tangerine on the Rocks and then you really can do a scarf in any design/colour you wish.

When it came to the other hand...I was thinking I'm not sure I can do the detail required for the snowman again SO, a penguin it was.  All other fingers were done in the same way but then for my feature nail I used White Hot and Tangerine on the Rocks to create the cute little penguin.

The thumb, is created using a base of scene stealer then loose holographic silver glitter applied with a brush before a top coat for the extra sparkle.
