30th Birthday Party Invites

I was turning 30! I wanted to create some party invites which were a little bit quirky and would be a bit different to your normal standard print.

So I thought it would be fun to have the main invite wording printed directly onto balloons and then send these out for people to blow up to see all the details.

Firstly I designed the text in Adobe Illustrator so it was in a scaleable format for a printing company to use.
I sourced a supplier to print up the balloons and then I set about how to mount and display it as the front of the invite.

I have got a little obsession with chevrons! So as you can see the theme began, I used a chevron embossing wallet with a Big Shot press, I added the colour by rolling ink onto the embossing wallet, puting the card carefully between and then passing through the press but being extra careful so the ink didn't smudge onto the rest of the card.

I used a braddle to push two small holes into the card and then used colour twine to pass through and tie the balloon in place, with a little hand written tag saying 'Inflate me'.

I found that the balloon, flopped at the top so used a pritt glue roller to just stick the top of the balloon to but didn't hold it too much so my guests couldn't get it off to blow it up.

Finally I backed this with a rectangle of card which I had printed the RSVP details and names onto and once all put together they were ready to send.

The party continued the theme of coral, mint, gold and lots of handmade touches featured throughout the day.
