I had wanted to try out a floral, Cath Kidson, style on my nails for ages but with all the others on the list of 'want to try' and only one set of hands, I have finally got round to giving it a go! It is fair to say I am pretty chuffed with the finished result *Big grin*
The baby blue and white base works well, and I didn't feel I could
replicate the floral on each nail to a good enough quality so thought
polka dots and stripes would give the perfect mix.

I started out doing the easy bits, so I put a drop of the white and blue on some foil, then I dip into it with a dotting tool, but more often than not I use a cocktail stick, as you really don't need fancy tools to create this look - I just happened to have them to hand.
So I start with the dots down the centre of the nail, then I do an alternate line either side of the centre line so they are offset, and then repeat until the nail is covered in dots.
I used a long striping brush to do the stripes on my middle finger, again starting in the centre, then doing the next line out either side and working outwards.
So I don't smudge anything I then set all this detail under the LED lamp.
Then it is time to drawn the outline of the white base for the flower. I used the dotting tool and drew the outline, then I did the mini dots around the outside, then i filled the rest of the space and set.
Really all that is left now is the flower and that I just created with two shades of pink, some little white dots in the centre and finally some little green leaves around the outside.
Top coat, cure and you are finally done!
I can't lie, these took me about 2 hours to do once my nails were prepped - I do like to take my time to try to get the best finish I can - but hopefully you will agree it was worth it!
Some of my most favourite nails to date xx
